Care of Your Legacy Birdbath
The concrete we use to manufacture Legacy Birdbaths is top-quality and will not deteriorate significantly in winter weather. However, bowls that catch and retain water (like birdbath tops) may experience cracking due to the expansive action of ice, therefore the top of the birdbath must be brought inside or turned over during the freezing months.
Our products are stained to produce a natural, variegated antique finish. This finish will not wash off nor fade in sunlight, but the appearance will be altered if an abrasive cleaner is used. We therefore recommend cleaning your Legacy Birdbath with a soft sponge and warm soapy water.
The birdbaths are also sealed with a clear acrylic sealer (available at hardware stores) to further enhance the beauty of the piece. This will eventually weather away and may be re-applied by the homeowner, however, this procedure is optional and not a necessity.
If the above recommendations are followed, then the owner of a Legacy Birdbath will have many years of enjoyment from the piece.
